I always wished there were a magazine that would cover them all, and after working for a national magazine, I decided to make my own! Thus, Travel Fare is designed to be an online magazine that explores the history and culture of a different country every month. S: Malaysian or Thai.
4. Favorite dish:
S: Mango coconut rice or cherry focaccia (really, anything with fruit in it.)
5. Favorite travel memory:
S: Dancing on the Rambla del Mar in Barcelona at midnight or bobsledding in Prague!
6. Least favorite food:
S: Broccoli and fennel. Ick.
7. Strangest food experience:
S: Crawling bonito. It was agadashi tofu topped with bonito flakes in a tall, narrow bowl with hot (temperature-wise) sauce at the bottom. The steam rose, hit the flakes, and made them curl and crawl across the tofu. It freaked me out at first, but it was delicious!
8. Best travel advice:
S: Scan all of your important documents (license, passport, etc) and email them to yourself before you go. It will be a lifesaver if anything gets lost or stolen!
9. Favorite comfort food:
S: Sushi, or (if it’s a really bad day) Kraft macaroni and cheese. Yeah, the kind in the box. Don’t judge me.
10. Favorite family food memory:
S: Making pan dulces (a Mexican sweet bread filled with chocolate) with my dad. We only do it for Christmas and on really special occasions because it takes all day, but we have fun making them together!
